In the 3rd Primary school of Eleftherio-Kordelio, during the Christmas period, we discussed the topic of toys and Santa's presents. The students expressed their worries about how much money is spent on toys and how quickly they get bored of the toys they already have. Some others said that toys break very easily and they can't play with them for a long time, so they have to throw them away. 

At that point the issue of recycling and upcycling came up. The students were asked to bring at school their broken toys and do a research on what they can do with them. They were proven very creative and with great enthusiasm they became artists !!! They enjoyed the activity and they learned by experience. 

Two birds in one stone!
